Laura Linney has been hailed as one of America's most acclaimed actors. Linney is renowned for her strong character but as fragile. She was raised by an unmarried mother, who worked as a nursing assistant. Linney became interested in the theatre during time spent in the summer by her famous father. She was a student of acting through Brown University, and later in Juilliard School. Beginning her career at the Broadway soon after graduation, she appeared in film within two years, and then on television in the year after. Since then, she's appeared in countless films and TV and stage productions. Her nominations include three Oscar Awards, five Tony Awards, and four Primetime Emmy Awards (including two Golden Globe Awards), as well as received numerous awards over her professional career. However, in spite of all the awards she has received, theatre has remained her passion first and foremost. She is still appearing in stage and screen.
